WELCOME
Over the years, I have regularly represented both individuals and businesses in a wide variety of legal matters. I have experience that really matters for helping you with your legal problems.
I grew up in Minnesota and graduated from college with honors from Minnesota State University, Mankato. In the spring of 1985, I graduated from the University of South Dakota, School of Law, with a degree in law (Juris Doctor). For the next two years, I clerked for the Honorable. Peder K. Ecker, US Bankruptcy Judge, District of South Dakota. Thereafter, I returned to Minnesota and have since been in the private practice of law. My law office was located in downtown Minneapolis until April 1999 and then I moved it to the Burnsville-Eagan area to be closer to my home.

I have represented many children and adults with significant injuries caused by car accidents, dog bites and other events. I have represented many people in bankruptcy, debt relief negotiation and employment contract matters. I have represented homeowners in a variety of insurance claims. I have handled real estate matters, probate estate issues, as well as individuals in other general, civil, and criminal matters.
Representing Businesses

From 2001 through 2011, I was outside general counsel to a large privately owned technology company headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota with 300 employees and over 100 million per year in sales. As part of that representation, I handled significant contract review, negotiation and design, the purchase and sale of parts of its business, numerous employee related claim matters, customer and vendor bankruptcy matters, debt collection (my largest successful collection was 2 million dollars), sales tax matters, drafting an Employee Guide, and company debt financing document review and analysis. It was sold to a public company in May 2011. I have represented a variety of out of state banks and Minnesota lumber companies in debt collection matters. Areas of Practice
Auto Accidents
Car accidents can be terrifying experiences. Often, at least some of the people involved are injured, sometimes severely, and the automobiles that crashed are damaged. The legal system can help the parties sort out who is at fault for the accident, and which party needs to pay the doctors' and mechanics' bills.
Pedestrian Accidents
In a collision between a car and a pedestrian, the results are almost always inevitable. You have no protections when you’re a pedestrian, and you’re at the mercy of the vehicle operator. As a result, the injuries springing from these accidents are both severe and one-sided.
Concussion and Brain Injury
In an instant, everything is different. A blow to the head can cause your life to change in a second. Concussions and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are unpredictable and extremely dangerous if not treated properly. To most people, you may look normal on the outside, but there’s damage on the inside affecting your ability to think clearly and impacting your ability to work.
Truck Accidents
Huge powerful vehicles of course deserve respect on the road, demand exceptional driver training, added caution, a dedication to obeying traffic laws, and a big dose of common sense. Even with the best of intentions, dangerous collisions still occur. And that’s when calling upon a truck accident lawyer becomes most important.
Wrongful Death
Coping with the loss of a loved one can be one of the most trying times of your life. When your family member’s death was caused by another party’s negligence or wrongdoing, the grieving process only intensifies In these instances, you may have the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit and receive the closure and financial compensation to which you and your family are entitled.
Boat accidents
A number of issues may lead to a boating accident, and subsequent injury to any persons involved. These can include speeding, errors by operators, insufficient training or knowledge of watercraft operation or equipment, defects in boat components or equipment, improper maintenance, and other issues.
